Xavier was a keen cricketer, played regularly for the office team, and for this reason he was nicknamed Ranji.' Ranji was the popular name for Ranjitsinhji, The Maharaja of Nawanager, a famous cricketer who played for England and as well as being one of the greatest batsmen of all time, was an outstanding fielder. |
