Description:

DANIEL SHERRIN (UK, 1868–1942)Daniel Sherrin was an early 19th century English Artist born in 1868 in Brentwood, to the artist John Sherrin. He was a pupil of the excellent landscape artist B.W Leader. Sherrin was primarily a landscape artist who is very well known for painting country scenes in Suffolk, Norfolk, Surrey and Hampshire. Sherrin’s output was often used as book illustrations, one of his works In the Highlands featured in the book Highways And Byways From A Motor Car, by Thomas D Murphey. Sherrin contributed to the war effort during WWI by designing recruitment posters and was also commissioned to paint Sandringham by King George V. The painting still hangs in Buckingham Palace
