From 1862 he exhibited his works at the Royal Prussian Academy of Arts as well as in Dresden and Frankfurt am Main.In 1887 he married Luise Henriette Walzer, with whom he had lived for over a decade before the marriage.His brother was the hunting and landscape painter Wilhelm Hampe (Conrad Friedrich Wilhelm Hampe, 1838–1876).  The beautiful gold gilt frame
